recap from last tues...

&nbsp;

oh snaps! if you weren't out with The Jane Doe's last tuesday for double duty gigs in Los Angeles with the Hotel Cafe and &quot;the Gathering&quot; at the mint... well...

there's no nice way of saying this..

....YOU TOTALLY BLEW IT! hahaha

the Hotel was filled to the gills! and the Mint was out of control with the comedy stylings of our friends and hosts of &quot;the Gathering&quot; Reuben Paul and Butch Bradley.. they brought the house down with their gang of filthy rich and dirty poor, all famous, guest line up....

here's a link to pictures of us with DANE COOK doing &quot;the Humpty Dance&quot;... and other snaps at this past tuesday's&nbsp; <a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/41861294@N03/">&quot;gathering &quot; .... (next gathering is oct 13th)

<a href="http://www.thejanedoes.com" target="_blank">

also here's a video of <a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WHKdqMT5glQ">&quot;Junkie from the hotel cafe&quot; one of our favorite hometown rooms...

in other news... Skinnytubs and B.rad have been producing some tracks, in addition to working with Carla Olson on music for Warner/Chapel. These will be selections from Warner/Chapels extensive catalogue and pitched for TV and film placement. This is a collaboration with a number of various artists, including Mike Railo, Paul Marshall, and Donovan's Daughter Astrella Celeste. Some of the songs include EMF's 1990 hit &quot;unbelievable&quot; and Van Morison's &quot;crazy love&quot;.

andy's update from india!

I just landed in Delhi, before we got into the car we were almost hit by 2 cars, approached by shoe shiners who morphed into beggars and who weren't satisfied with what I gave them. Like Bangalore, there is a turbulent sea of traffic, half finished construction, woman in sari's balancing precariously on the back of motor cycles which are often filled with a few more people, usually children perched just behind the handle bars.
My host's have houses and staff in many cities throughout India, and since they needed to stay in Bangalore, I am traveling with two friends and we r headed to the Taj Majalh on our own...well not on our own at all. Our hosts staff, serious and quiet, picked us up in a beige Toyota mini van and r taking us to one of the guest houses for the night before our trek to the city of Agra that hosts the Taj Majalh.
While stopped at a light still with in 10 min of the airport, a woman with orange bucket lined teeth holding a beautiful and ragged, blank eyed baby knocks on my window for $. From what I understand, begging in India is quite an organized racket. The woman is probably giving the majority of her earnings to some sort of beggar's pimp who runs the territory, she or her pimp typically is renting the pretty, dirty baby to stab at the heart of potential donors...not easy.

Unlike Bangalore, the streets and traffic seem more organize in Delhi on our way to the state buildings which are massive, majestic, clean and reminds me of when I went on a date to a black tie affair with a girl who was doing some political internship in dc. Though she was quite beautiful, the hipocrisy of stepping over homeless people on the way up the white pillared staircases to the ball was quite ugly

In my spiderman tee and blonde hair, I was a bit of a spectacle among the tourist @ the Gate of India, a massive memorial to soldiers that have died. I was asked many times and not in any tongue I had heard previous, to be in pictures which I imagine r going back to a small town or village to be shown to family members etc. The tourist area around the gate was filled with exotic faces though cotton candy and blown liquid bubbles are apparently comfortable staples all over the world..
Not sure exactly where our quiet tour guides r taking us right now but I was able to communicate enough to have our morning departure time to the Taj changed to 8 am Sunday instead of 5 am...I mean don't these folks know I am normally just cracking my last beer around then?
More to come from India
